All members of the orchestra are accomplished amateur musicians, most from the Salisbury area, although some travel a considerable distance to participate.

The Salisbury Symphony Orchestra is a very sociable orchestra with adult members of all ages.  There is always the opportunity  for a friendly chat over coffee in rehearsal breaks and we often have buffets following our concerts.

The orchestra rehearses at 7:30 pm on
Friday’s in the term leading up to a concert
(
see rehearsal schedule), usually at the
South Wilts Grammar School, Stratford Road,
Salisbury, SP1 3JJ
(see map for location).

We current have vacancies for:

· Double Basses

Additional string players are always welcome.  We also frequently have need for augment players to perform works for larger orchestra.  If you would like to apply to joint the orchestra, or be considered for augment, please apply to:

Hon. Secretary: Mrs P Dickins, Little Compton,
Hindon Road, Tisbury, SP3 6QQ

Tel: 01747 870226

Email: Polly@SalisburySymphonyOrchestra.org.uk

Please note that players must be of high standard to play the repertoire performed by the orchestra and applicants will be required to audition.

Membership subscription fees are
£40 per year, with discounted rate of
£20 for students.
