SUSAN MACKENZIE-PARK was born and educated in Scotland and studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and then the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, assisted by several scholarships.

She has performed on concert platforms throughout Europe including Prague – where she first sang the Sea Pictures, Istanbul, Paris and London.  Her discography includes Suor Angelica, with Antonio Pappano, as part of EMI’s new recording of Puccini’s Il Trittico.

Operatic performances have taken her to Italy where she performed Walton’s opera The Bear at the composer’s home on the island of Ischia. She has also sung as far afield as Banff in Canada but works most often at Opera North and the Royal Opera house, Covent Garden.

Susan was fortunate to spend two weeks in masterclasses with Dame Joan Sutherland and Richard Bonynge, accompanied by the pianist Malcolm Martineau.

After a break to have a family, Susan returned to the platform in recital with Malcolm Martneau at the Blackledge Theatre in Salisbury, where she now lives.

Future plans include Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius at Charterhouse, and Britten’s Noye’s Fludde here in Salisbury Cathedral next summer.
